Episode 696 How to Do a Citizens' Assembly

Notes

Marjan Ehsassi practiced law many years and then decided to focus on the relations between citizens and government, where she thinks the big problems lie. So she’s been studying citizens’ assemblies and whote a Ph.D. dissertation on it — which became a book. Since Project Save the World is planning an inquiry on zoom that will resemble a citizens assembly (though we won’t call it that because we can’t recruit by sortition), we consulted her for advice about the design.
