According to CBC, people waited an average 246 days longer to get into culturally specific GTA care homes in 2017/18. We wouldn’t want to segregate children into different ethnic schools, but it seems only humane to let old people choose to live in nursing homes among people of their own ethnic and linguistic background. There is not much social integration happening when you are 95.
