Episode 399 Occupied Palestine

Michael Lynk is a law professor and the current Special Rapporteur on the situation of Palestinians in the Occupied Territories. For almost six years he has observed the plight of that community, but without visiting the Occupied Territories at all; the government of Israel refuses to allow a representative of the United Nations to enter Israel or the Occupied Territories. Only a few other countries maintain such a rigid control over a community (such as the Rohingya or the Uyghurs). Lynk maintains that the government of Israel will never relent in its oppression of the Palestinians unless the international community intervenes with strong demands, but he reports that almost all countries maintain a willful blindness about the illegality of the Israeli occupation. Thank you very much, Metta! An extremely interesting and important conversation. Prof. Lynk is right. Without severe pressure from the international community, real change can hardly be expected.
